Prof. Marco Sassoli is universally recognized as one of the world's leading authorities on the application of international law to armed conflict. He is Director of the Department of International Law and International Organizations at the University of Geneva, Switzerland and the former head of the Legal Division of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Prof. Gabor Rona is a Visiting Professor of Law at Cardozo School of Law, where he teaches international human rights law, international criminal law and international humanitarian law. He is the Chairperson of the UN Working Group on Mercenaries and has previously served as the International Legal Director of Human Rights First, as well as a Legal Adviser in the Legal Division of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva.
