The backdrop of this presidential election is an armed conflict that continues to affect thousands of Congolese civilians.
Franz Rauchenstein, head of the ICRC delegation in the DRC, spoke to me yesterday. He describes the last few days in the capital, the ICRC response and our continued support for the DRC Red Cross, whose volunteers have been particularly active since the polls opened.
