From the field - Access to Homs denied, hundreds at risk
Concerns about Homs and other parts of Syria are mounting.
Fighting in Homs is ongoing and the humanitarian situation rapidly deteriorating.
However, precise figures about casualties and needs are unavalaible due to lack of access by either the Syrian Red Crescent and the ICRC.
Our Damascus team requested the parties access to the besieged city repeatedly in recent days, only to be turned down.
These negotiations are now at a dead end, according to Rabab Al Rifai, our spokesperson in the Syrian capital.
