Every year since 2011, the ICRC has awarded the Humanitarian Visa d'Or is given out each year by the ICRC's delegation in Paris to a professional photojournalist who highlights, through their reporting, issues women face in war, including sexual violence, as well as detention and the separation of families. The Jury is composed of representatives from the New York Times, La Croix, Géo Magazine, Paris Match, Le Figaro Magazine, Causette and the ICRC and the winner gets a prize of 8,000 euros (around $9,000 USD). The 2017 award will be officially presented in the southern French town of Perpignan in September during the Visa pour l'image festival.
