A tool for researchers and journalists

Writing about IHL or armed conflict? This bibliography might help.

Every three months, the ICRC HQ Library in Geneva, Switzerland publishes an IHL bibliography based on its extensive acquisitions. The bibliography references articles, monographs, reports and working papers from a broad range of sources, including 120 academic journals. It is divided into 15 categories and each article is summarized. The abstract is either provided by the author/editor or written by our in-house librarians.

The ICRC Library has acquired publications and periodicals since 1863. The collection focuses on international humanitarian law, humanitarianism and the history and development of armed conflict. Other topics include international criminal law, human rights, weapons, detention, refugees and IDPs.

Over 25,000 books and articles as well as 300 journals are available to researchers.
